Algorithm Developer (Semiconductor Process Control)

Location: Santa Clara, California, United States; travel to customer sites approximately 10% of the time.

Salary: $161,000–$221,000 per year

What you will do

• Develop in situ metrology and process control products for real-time control of chemical mechanical planarization tools.
• Define system requirements with internal teams and develop C&F systems through exploratory experiments.
• Develop algorithms to control CMP processes and create hardware-software integration specifications.
• Support system-level debugging, troubleshoot complex process and customer product issues, and resolve technical problems.
• Collaborate with internal teams to move products from C&F development through production release.
• Prepare technical documentation, presentations, and reports, and serve as a technical resource for CMP metrology and process control.

Requirements

• M.S. degree with 3–5 years of experience, or a Ph.D., in Applied Physics, Electrical Engineering, or a related field; exceptional bachelor's degree holders may be considered.
• Strong aptitude in mathematics, programming, and signal processing, with a broad STEM background.
• Strong critical thinking, analytical, troubleshooting, communication, teamwork, and consensus-building skills.
• Experience creating projects with Python, Java, MATLAB, or another programming language used for computational data analysis.
• Familiarity with statistical data analytics and the ability to make judgments from multiple information sources.
• On-site work in Santa Clara, California, with approximately 10% customer-site travel.

• Experience building a control system.
• Knowledge of or exposure to the semiconductor industry, process engineering, or metrology.
