What you will do

  • Perform advanced thermo-mechanical finite element simulations to evaluate structural integrity of test sockets, thermal heads, and package interfaces.
  • Lead warpage and deformation analysis for multi-material assemblies, accounting for CTE mismatch and nonlinear material behavior.
  • Develop thermal cycling and mechanical fatigue models to predict long-term reliability and interface degradation.
  • Correlate simulation results with physical testing, metrology, and strain measurements to refine predictive models.
  • Identify mechanical risk drivers and recommend design or process changes to improve robustness and yield.
  • Partner with thermal, packaging, and manufacturing teams to ensure mechanical compatibility across the full product lifecycle.

Requirements

  • Must be eligible to access export-controlled information under U.S. law.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or related field with 5-10 years of experience, or Master’s/PhD with 3-5 years of experience.
  • Deep expertise in thermo-mechanical simulation and structural FEA for complex, multi-material systems.
  • Proficiency with simulation tools such as ANSYS, Abaqus, or COMSOL.
  • Hands-on experience correlating simulation results with physical testing and metrology.
  • Strong understanding of solid mechanics, material behavior, and reliability physics.

Nice to have

  • Experience with semiconductor packaging, probe cards, or handler-integrated mechanical systems.
  • Scripting or automation experience using Python or MATLAB.
  • Prior technical leadership on cross-org infrastructure or platform programs.
