Space Process Engineer, FMEA & Manufacturability

Location: On-site in El Segundo, California, United States

Salary: $109,000–$152,000 annually, plus potential stock options.

hirify.global develops commercial space infrastructure, including in-orbit pharmaceutical processing payloads, reentry capsules, heat shields, and satellite buses, which are designed, built, integrated, and tested in-house.

What you will do

• Partner with design and manufacturing teams to create test, manufacturability, and inspection plans for vehicle hardware.
• Contain non-conforming products and provide guidance to quality inspectors, technicians, supervisors, and engineers.
• Lead failure investigations across production, testing, and operations, identifying root causes and implementing risk-reduction measures.
• Review hardware during design reviews and acceptance and qualification test campaigns.
• Perform FMEA, develop requirements compliance matrix tools, and ensure test coverage, change management, and manufacturability of flight hardware.
• Own vehicle-level compliance, hazard analysis, verification evidence, and mission assurance risk-mitigation deliverables.

Requirements

• 3+ years of professional experience in aerospace, design, quality, or a related engineering role.
• Bachelor’s degree in aerospace, computer science, electrical, manufacturing, mechanical, materials science, or a related engineering discipline.
• Hands-on experience with hardware testing, qualification, troubleshooting, or failure analysis.
• Experience applying process controls in high-volume manufacturing, testing, or quality environments.
• Experience generating, processing, or analyzing production data.
• Must be a U.S. person authorized to work in the United States and permitted to access export-controlled technology without an export license.

Nice to have

• Full project lifecycle ownership experience.
• Experience with measurement systems analysis, design of experiments, statistical process control, root cause analysis and corrective action, APQP, metrology, PFMEA, and control plans.
• Hands-on knowledge of CNC machining, additive manufacturing, casting, welding, fastening, or other special manufacturing processes.
