TL;DR
Head of Quality & Reliability (Aerospace): Building and leading the quality and reliability organization for mission-critical aerospace communication systems with an accent on QMS implementation, AS9100 certification, and lifecycle reliability. Focus on establishing scalable quality processes, leading FMEA and FRACAS activities, driving root-cause investigations, and improving manufacturing performance.

Location: Torrance, California, United States; on-site five days per week

Salary: $170,000–$235,000 per year, plus equity, discretionary performance bonuses, and benefits.

hirify.global is a space infrastructure company developing phased-array ground stations and advanced communications systems for satellite missions, including national security, global connectivity, and disaster response.

What you will do

  • Build, implement, and continuously improve the company Quality Management System.
  • Lead AS9100 certification, audits, compliance activities, training, and improvement initiatives.
  • Own document control, configuration management, nonconformance management, CAPA, and audit readiness.
  • Partner with Engineering, Manufacturing, Integration & Test, and Production to embed quality and reliability across the product lifecycle.
  • Develop quality plans, process controls, acceptance criteria, reliability strategies, and manufacturing quality approaches.
  • Build and lead the Quality & Reliability organization while driving metrics, root-cause investigations, qualification testing, failure analysis, and risk mitigation.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, Quality Engineering, or a related technical discipline.
  • 8+ years of experience in manufacturing quality, quality engineering, or reliability engineering.
  • 3+ years of experience leading teams or major cross-functional quality initiatives.
  • Experience in aerospace, defense, automotive, energy, or another high-reliability industry.
  • Strong knowledge of DFMEA, Control Plans, DOE, Six Sigma, DFSS, statistical methods, and reliability engineering.
  • Must successfully obtain and maintain a Top Secret Security Clearance and meet U.S. ITAR eligibility requirements.

Nice to have

  • Experience in a high-growth startup or rapidly scaling manufacturing environment.
  • Experience leading AS9100 certification or major QMS transformations.
  • Experience building quality data, analytics, and feedback systems.
  • Experience spanning quality, manufacturing engineering, and operations leadership.
  • Hands-on experience with RF, PCBA, custom enclosures, electromechanical assemblies, or other complex hardware systems.
