Location: Herndon, Virginia, United States; on-site. U.S. citizenship and an active TS/SCI security clearance are mandatory.

Salary: $95,000–$193,000 per year

What you will do

  • Develop, modify, and run high-fidelity simulations of space, airborne, and ISR sensor systems.
  • Design operational vignettes, analysis plans, measurable scenarios, assumptions, and evaluation criteria.
  • Own complex analysis tasks from requirements clarification through model configuration, execution, interpretation, and delivery.
  • Develop simulation tools, Python or Excel scripts, simulator features, reusable scenario components, data analysis workflows, and visualizations.
  • Analyze results to identify trends, risks, trade-offs, sensitivities, and performance drivers, then present recommendations to technical teams, program leaders, and customers.
  • Improve QA/QC, verification, validation, configuration-management, and documentation practices while coordinating work with multidisciplinary teams and reviewing peers’ work.

Requirements

  • U.S. citizenship and an active or current TS/SCI clearance.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Aerospace Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Mathematics, Physics, or Computer Science.
  • At least 3 years of professional experience in space systems modeling and simulation.
  • Knowledge of astrodynamics, remote sensing, spacecraft design, aerospace systems operations, or complex systems integration.
  • Willingness to work on-site in Herndon, Virginia.
  • Ability to analyze and resolve technical risks, prepare technical reports, and collaborate with government stakeholders, clients, and teammates.

Nice to have

  • Advanced degree in Engineering or a related field.
  • Seven years of professional experience in space systems modeling and simulation.
  • Experience designing, developing, and implementing complex mathematical algorithms.
  • Experience developing standalone engineering tools and scripts with Python and/or Excel.
  • Strong written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills.
