Network Engineer / Security Engineer (Japanese)

Location: New York, NY 10022, with 2–3 days per week onsite. Onsite installation and troubleshooting may involve client offices and data centers in NY, NJ, and CT, with occasional business travel.

Salary: $70,000–$100,000 per year, depending on experience.

What you will do

• Design, implement, maintain, and troubleshoot IP network infrastructure, including firewalls, routers, and switches.
• Configure and support customer servers, PCs, networks, telephony systems, and infrastructure environments.
• Perform onsite installations and technical support at client offices and data centers, with occasional travel.
• Manage pre-sales and post-sales technical projects while coordinating with vendors, subcontractors, and sales teams.
• Conduct security assessments and build, operate, and enhance endpoint protection and network security platforms.
• Respond to infrastructure incidents, maintain technical documentation, report project status, and mentor junior engineers as needed.

Requirements

• 4–6+ years of practical experience in network engineering and strong hands-on enterprise networking experience.
• Strong IP networking fundamentals and experience with LAN/WAN technologies.
• Experience with Cisco, Fortinet, and Palo Alto firewalls, routers, and switches.
• Experience operating Unix/Linux and Windows servers, plus Microsoft, Citrix, VMware, virtualization, and storage environments.
• Experience with endpoint protection and vulnerability assessment tools.
• Japanese and English bilingual communication skills, including client-facing communication; flexibility to provide after-hours or weekend incident response when required.

Nice to have

• CCNA or CCNP certification; practical experience is prioritized.
• MSP/MSSP experience.
