Principal Technical Consultant - Network Security

Location: United States; remote. Travel of at least 25% is required, including work at client facilities when needed.

What you will do

• Lead discovery sessions, architecture reviews, design, implementation, testing, cutover, rollback planning, and knowledge transfer for complex network security engagements.
• Design and deploy next-generation firewalls across Palo Alto Networks, Fortinet, and Cisco Secure Firewall platforms, including migrations, segmentation, high availability, VPN, logging, and compliance controls.
• Implement Cisco ISE network access control, 802.1X, identity-based segmentation, profiling, posture assessment, guest access, BYOD onboarding, and certificate-based authentication.
• Architect F5 BIG-IP application delivery, global server load balancing, web application firewalls, API security, SSL orchestration, and cloud-native load-balancing solutions.
• Design SASE and Zero Trust architectures using Zscaler, Palo Alto Prisma Access, SD-WAN, CASB, DLP, identity integrations, and traffic-steering technologies.
• Act as a technical authority for client and internal teams, supporting sales campaigns, mentoring engineers, developing reusable delivery assets, and creating technical content.

Requirements

• 10+ years of network security, infrastructure security, or security engineering experience, including at least 4 years in consulting, professional services, or client-facing delivery.
• Hands-on enterprise production experience with at least two next-generation firewall platforms: Palo Alto Networks, Cisco Secure Firewall, or Fortinet.
• Production experience with Cisco ISE, F5 BIG-IP application delivery, and at least one SASE platform such as Zscaler or Palo Alto Prisma Access.
• Strong knowledge of BGP, OSPF, EIGRP, IPsec, SSL/TLS, network segmentation, DNS, Zero Trust, cloud networking, IAM, SIEM integration, Terraform, Ansible, and REST APIs.
• Experience independently leading large multi-technology projects, directing technical resources, producing client-ready documentation, and communicating with executive stakeholders.
• Must be based in the United States and able to travel at least 25%.

Nice to have

• CCIE Security, PCNSE or PCNSC, Fortinet NSE 7 or NSE 8, F5 certifications, Zscaler certifications, CCNP Security, or CISSP.
• Experience with firewall migrations, microsegmentation, additional SSE platforms, regulated industries, multi-cloud architectures, CI/CD integration, and managed services.
• Experience mentoring engineers and producing practice enablement or public-facing technical content.
