Network Security Engineer (IoT)

Location: San Francisco or remote from the U.S. East Coast

Builds smart loading dock sensor infrastructure that connects physical freight operations with digital logistics systems.

What you will do

• Design and implement secure network architectures across cloud, on-premise, and edge/IoT environments.
• Configure and maintain firewalls, VPNs, network segmentation, NAC, and secure remote access solutions.
• Monitor network activity, investigate suspicious activity and breaches, and lead containment, remediation, and post-incident reviews.
• Oversee vulnerability assessments, penetration testing, security reviews, and risk remediation.
• Secure cloud infrastructure, network connectivity, identity controls, and deployment operations.
• Implement zero-touch provisioning, secure edge identities, and mesh VPN solutions for fleet communication and maintenance.

Requirements

• 3+ years of experience in network security, cybersecurity engineering, or infrastructure security.
• Strong knowledge of TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, VPN, routing, and switching.
• Hands-on experience with firewalls, endpoint protection, and vulnerability management tools.
• Experience securing AWS or Google Cloud Platform environments.
• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Cybersecurity, Information Security, Computer Engineering, or a related technical field.

Nice to have

• Experience with software-defined mesh VPN systems such as WireGuard or Tailscale.
• Familiarity with SOC 2 and related security frameworks.
• Incident response, threat detection, and security troubleshooting expertise.
• CISSP, CCNP Security, Security+, GSEC, or equivalent certification.
