Maintenance Tech I (Medical Devices)

Location: Hayward, California, United States; onsite in a manufacturing plant and clean room environment

Salary: $64,000–$88,000 annually, with potential discretionary bonuses

What you will do

• Repair, troubleshoot, and perform preventive maintenance on medical device manufacturing equipment and facility systems.
• Maintain electrical, electronic, hydraulic, pneumatic, motor control, PLC, servo, conveyor, packaging, extrusion, and printing systems.
• Respond to equipment failures and trouble calls, perform root cause analysis, and resolve production, process, and compliance issues.
• Modify, upgrade, and install equipment and machinery while supporting continuous improvement projects.
• Maintain spare parts inventory and complete work orders, maintenance records, and CMMS documentation.
• Follow EHS requirements, manufacturing SOPs, cGMP expectations, lockout/tagout procedures, and Good Documentation Practices.

Requirements

• 3–5 years of maintenance experience with automated manufacturing machines or equipment.
• Experience with PLC systems such as Siemens, Allen Bradley, or Omron; CMMS experience, preferably Maximo.
• Knowledge of motor controls, variable frequency drives, servos, stepper motors, high-speed packaging equipment, sensors, and vision systems.
• Ability to read electrical schematics, mechanical and building drawings, and part diagrams; electrical experience up to 480V three-phase is required.
• Experience with facility equipment such as compressed air, vacuum, HVAC, and reverse osmosis water systems.
• Fluent English and authorization to work for any employer in the United States are required; visa sponsorship is not available.

Nice to have

• Experience with SCADA, EMS, BMS, Cognex, Keyence, machining, welding, or tooling.
