What you will do

• Forecast engineering, materials, and manufacturing requirements and communicate demand signals to suppliers.
• Form and coordinate a Materials Core Team across buyers, planners, production control, engineering, quality, and manufacturing.
• Create, release, and update materials strategies for new projects and execute commercialization transition plans.
• Support supplier sourcing, price and delivery negotiations, supplier selection, risk assessment, and performance monitoring.
• Manage materials change control, cost objectives, total landed cost indicators, and supplier quality issues.
• Identify critical and long-lead parts, inspection requirements, supplier road maps, and value-analysis opportunities.

Requirements

• Conceptual and practical expertise in materials or a related discipline, with basic knowledge of adjacent functions.
• Knowledge of best practices and how materials management integrates with engineering, sourcing, manufacturing, and quality.
• Ability to solve complex problems using multiple sources of information and sound judgment.
• Ability to build consensus and explain difficult or sensitive information.
• Willingness to travel approximately 10% of the time.
• Eligible for relocation.
