Manager IV, Operations Management (Semiconductor Manufacturing)

Location: Kawasaki, Japan. Domestic travel to manufacturing sites and supplier locations is required approximately 20% of the time. Relocation eligible.

What you will do

• Lead production activities across contract manufacturing partners in Japan, from production planning through testing, evaluation, and customer delivery.
• Manage manufacturing costs, engineering resources, production capacity, delivery schedules, and recovery plans for operational issues.
• Manage suppliers, component forecasts, procurement plans, quality performance, corrective actions, safety stock, and supply chain risk mitigation.
• Coordinate engineering, R&D, data verification, EHS, Sales, logistics, and customer activities to ensure shipment readiness and schedule adherence.
• Oversee inventory reconciliation, warehouse operations, component shipments, receiving activities, and production-floor improvements including 5S initiatives.
• Complete a structured one- to two-year transition and OJT period, developing toward leadership of the full Operations function.

Requirements

• Experience in production management, manufacturing operations, operations management, or supply chain management within large equipment, machinery, or industrial manufacturing environments.
• Strong supplier management and negotiation experience covering cost, delivery, quality, and service.
• Cross-functional project management experience and the ability to lead teams, coach employees, and drive organizational performance.
• Understanding of BOM structures, MRP systems, logistics, warehousing, inventory control, supply chain operations, budgets, and payment controls.
• Ability to collaborate effectively in a global matrix organization with internal and external stakeholders.
• Business-level English communication skills are required, including an English interview.

• Experience managing semiconductor manufacturing equipment, factory automation systems, or other industrial machinery operations.
• Experience coordinating engineering teams, contract manufacturers, and external suppliers.
• Familiarity with semiconductor manufacturing processes and operational requirements.
