Manufacturing Engineering Intern (Robotics)

Location: On-site in San Carlos, California, United States

Salary: $25–$35 per hour; $2,500 monthly housing stipend

What you will do

• Develop and document repeatable manufacturing and assembly processes for prototype and pre-production parts.
• Build and improve fixtures, jigs, and workflows to reduce build time, scrap, and rework.
• Validate processes and perform durability testing to identify failure modes and drive corrective actions.
• Create and maintain CAD models and process documentation for reproducible parts and methods.
• Partner with design and engineering teams to improve design for manufacturability before parts reach production.

Requirements

• Currently studying engineering or a related field.
• Hands-on experience or aptitude in manufacturing, mechanical engineering, machining, 3D printing, assembly, and post-processing.
• Basic CAD skills with SolidWorks, Onshape, or similar tools.
• Comfort with physical work, including setup, assembly, and post-processing.
• Ability to document work clearly and think in terms of repeatability, throughput, and yield.

Nice to have

• Experience with manufacturing processes, fixturing, robotics, mechatronics, or hardware projects.
• Exposure to design for manufacturability, process validation, or production scale-up.
