Avionics Engineering Internship (Aerospace)

Location: Full-time and on-site in El Segundo, California, United States. Spring internships run between January and May, depending on the selected student's university schedule.

Hourly rate: $33.00. Housing stipend is available for interns relocating to the area, with a commuter benefit for local transportation.

What you will do

• Design and test custom PCBs for embedded electronics and analog/digital systems.
• Develop hardware systems end to end, including schematic capture, PCB layout, manufacturing, and testing.
• Support embedded system development using microcontrollers and sensors.
• Own one or more avionics projects from design through hardware validation.
• Build systems such as embedded camera platforms, thermocouple loggers, and analog thermoelectric cooler controllers.

Requirements

• Prior experience designing printed circuit boards.
• Familiarity with microcontroller programming and some experience or interest in Python.
• Currently pursuing an undergraduate or graduate degree in Electrical Engineering or a related field at an accredited institution.
• Entering junior year or later is preferred.
• Strong attention to detail and the ability to debug hardware prototypes.
• Must be authorized to work in the United States and qualify as a U.S. person under ITAR requirements.

Nice to have

• Familiarity with Altium or other PCB design tools.
• Hands-on experience in project teams or laboratories.
