Cloud Engineer (US Federal)

Location: Reston, Virginia, United States; may require onsite work at client locations in the Washington, DC, Maryland, and Virginia area. The flexible-work model requires at least 50% of time each quarter in the office or in the field.

Salary: $137,000–$205,400 USD annual base pay for the primary location. Additional US locations: $123,900–$222,000 USD annual base pay.

What you will do

• Develop cloud strategies and design secure, scalable, reliable, and high-performance public-cloud architectures.
• Assess application cloud readiness and lead migration and deployment efforts.
• Automate infrastructure provisioning and deployment using infrastructure-as-code.
• Establish cloud governance, security, compliance, performance, and cost-management practices.
• Provide technical leadership and mentorship to cloud engineers.
• Collaborate with application teams, cloud providers, and third-party vendors.

Requirements

• At least 5 years of hands-on experience with AWS or GCP.
• At least 3 years of experience with Linux operating systems.
• At least 5 years of experience with Ruby, Go, or Python.
• At least 5 years delivering infrastructure-as-code with Terraform or Ansible.
• Experience with CI/CD pipelines, containers, Kubernetes, Docker, distributed systems, microservices, and RESTful services.
• Ability to obtain and maintain a U.S. government security clearance is required; TS/SCI with CI Poly may be required, and an active clearance is preferred.

Nice to have

• Experience leading cloud transformation initiatives for large-scale enterprises.
• DoD 8570/8140 compliance with at least IAT Level II certification, a current Computing Environment credential, and an approved specialty certification.
