Embedded Linux Engineer, C++ (Aerospace): Building reliable flight software for spacecraft, satellite buses, and reentry capsules with an accent on embedded C++, Linux, RTOS, and safety-critical systems. Location: On-site in El Segundo, California, United States. Relocation support is available for new hires if needed.

Salary: $131,000–$184,000 per year, plus potential stock options.

hirify.global develops commercial space infrastructure, including in-orbit pharmaceutical processing systems, reentry capsules, heat shields, and satellite buses.

What you will do

  • Develop reliable flight software controlling spacecraft, satellite buses, and reentry capsules throughout their missions.
  • Write structured bare-metal, RTOS, and Linux-based software for embedded processors in C++.
  • Own software design, testing, integration, verification, and validation.
  • Scope projects, capture requirements, and perform initial design trade-offs for open-ended problems.
  • Collaborate with the Flight Software team to solve problems and support flight operations.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in computer science, mathematics, physics, engineering, or equivalent technical experience in safety-critical software.
  • At least 3 years of experience developing spacecraft or similar safety-critical software.
  • Strong C++ development experience and understanding of core language concepts.
  • Must work on-site in El Segundo, California.
  • Must be authorized to work in the United States and qualify as a U.S. person for access to export-controlled technology.

Nice to have

  • End-to-end experience building and launching spacecraft.
  • Experience developing and testing real-time embedded systems and aerospace safety-critical software.
  • Experience with CCSDS telemetry and telecommand systems, F' or cFS frameworks, Python, or Rust.
  • Knowledge of analog and digital electronics, SPI, I2C, CAN, or EtherCAT.
