Salary: $200,000–$280,000 per year plus equity

What you will do

  • Own and improve real-time C++ infrastructure for sensor pipelines, motor control interfaces, and deterministic scheduling.
  • Build benchmarking, flamegraph, profiling, and regression-tracking tooling for latency and throughput.
  • Develop IPC and serialization layers using lock-free queues, memory pools, and shared-memory buffers.
  • Design foundational libraries and clean interfaces used by perception, planning, and controls teams.
  • Ship reliable systems software running on thousands of physical robots.

Requirements

  • 5+ years of production C++ experience in performance-critical systems such as robotics, autonomous vehicles, game engines, operating systems, compilers, HFT, or HPC.
  • Strong Linux and systems knowledge, including toolchains, ABI, kernel interfaces, cross-compilation, profiling, tracing, performance counters, and assembly inspection.
  • Experience designing systems with clear interfaces, minimal dependencies, and deterministic behavior under load.
  • Experience with real-time or safety-critical systems where latency guarantees and failure modes have physical consequences.
  • Familiarity with lock-free data structures, memory pools, shared-memory IPC, cross-compilation toolchains, and embedded Linux targets.
  • Background in robotics, autonomous vehicles, or other physical systems.
