Senior Embedded Linux Engineer (Connectivity)

Location: San Mateo, California, United States; onsite five days per week

Annual pay range: $180,000–$300,000 USD OTE

What you will do

• Build software and firmware deployed on customer devices.
• Own the full engineering cycle, including scoping, architecture, low-level design, trade-off analysis, development, and production launch.
• Apply test-driven and data-driven methods to create reliable, performant, and sustainable products.
• Debug complex embedded systems and solve technical problems methodically.
• Collaborate with product management and cross-functional teams to build and ship product features.
• Mentor other engineers and contribute to backend services when relevant.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s or master’s degree in computer science, electrical engineering, or a related field, or equivalent experience.
• 4+ years of experience in embedded engineering.
• Proficiency in C, C++, or Go.
• Experience developing software for hardware products and working with low-level interfaces such as SPI, I2C, and UART.
• Experience with networking and wireless communication protocols; experience with FreeRTOS, Embedded Linux, Go, Python, and schematic reading is preferred.
• Must be willing and able to work onsite five days per week.
