TL;DR

What you will do

  • Build, repair, and test electrical, electro-mechanical, vacuum, and pneumatic assemblies using work orders, schematics, wiring diagrams, and parts lists.
  • Perform scheduled and corrective maintenance on CVD reactors and subsystems, including vacuum pumps, gas panels, mass flow controllers, RF generators, and chillers.
  • Diagnose tool failures, perform root-cause analysis, replace parts, clean chambers, and support tool upgrades and retrofits.
  • Assist process engineers with process runs, recipe setup, parameter adjustments, process stability, and wafer or product quality verification.
  • Maintain maintenance logs and process deviation records while following SOPs, EHS standards, and cleanroom gowning requirements.
  • Support continuous improvement through 5S, Kaizen, and Lean manufacturing initiatives; train lower-level technicians and assist with quality issues.

Requirements

  • Associate degree or technical diploma in mechanical, electrical, or chemical engineering, or equivalent experience with semiconductor or high-vacuum systems.
  • 3+ years of hands-on experience with CVD or vacuum-based deposition equipment such as SiC, Si, PECVD, LPCVD, or ALD tools; the posting also references 4–7 years of semiconductor, display, comparable industry, or military experience.
  • Experience machining and grinding ceramic materials, quartz, and coated parts.
  • Ability to interpret P&IDs, schematics, and maintenance manuals, with strong mechanical aptitude.
  • Ability to work in a cleanroom and perform physically demanding tasks involving prolonged standing, lifting, ladders, tight spaces, hand and power tools, and required PPE.
  • Relocation is not eligible for this position.

Nice to have

  • Experience with PLC controls, gas delivery systems, or hazardous materials handling.
  • Proficiency in multiple semiconductor manufacturing concepts and processes.
  • People leadership experience with teams of five or more and the ability to lead technical projects with minimal supervision.
  • ASSEET or BSEET qualification, including DeVry or TSTC programs.
