Secondary Market Mortgage Loan Originator (Mortgage)

What you will do

• Originate portfolio and secondary-market conventional, FHA, VA, and RD mortgage loans.
• Provide mortgage advice, complete borrower applications, collect documentation, and explain loan terms and closing costs.
• Manage an active loan pipeline and coordinate daily with processors, underwriters, closers, borrowers, Realtors, and closing agents.
• Develop and maintain referral networks with bank associates and external community sources.
• Submit applications for verification, resolve discrepancies, and inform applicants of loan acceptance or denial.
• Maintain timely disclosures and compliance with banking, mortgage, and consumer-protection requirements.

Requirements

• At least 2 years of sales experience.
• Knowledge of mortgage laws, procedures, rules, regulations, underwriting policies, and investor guidelines.
• NMLS registration under the SAFE Act is required, including registration or transfer immediately after starting and annual renewal.
• Excellent communication, analytical, customer service, organizational, and presentation skills.
• Ability to work with personnel at all levels, meet deadlines, work under stress, and travel if required.
• Working knowledge of Microsoft Office and Outlook, or the ability to learn these tools.

• Bachelor’s degree.
• More than 2 years of mortgage origination experience.
