Head of Compute Procurement (AI)

Salary: $300,000 – $475,000

What you will do

• Set and execute a multi-year compute sourcing strategy, balancing cloud and on-premise infrastructure.
• Own the full procurement lifecycle, including RFPs, negotiation, contracting, and vendor management.
• Negotiate large-scale capacity commitments and capital deployments in partnership with Finance.
• Build and manage an accelerator supply chain to ensure allocation guarantees and delivery timelines.
• Act as the principal executive interface for NVIDIA, AMD, hyperscalers, and silicon vendors.
• Monitor market pricing, availability, and new entrants to protect runway and unit economics.

Requirements

• Extensive experience in large-scale technical procurement or infrastructure sourcing at a frontier AI lab or hyperscaler.
• Deep commercial fluency in GPU/accelerator pricing, allocation dynamics, and cloud contract structures.
• Proven track record of negotiating multi-million-dollar compute and infrastructure agreements.
• Ability to work on-site in Redwood City, CA.

Nice to have

• Existing relationships with NVIDIA, AMD, and major hyperscalers.
• Experience sourcing capacity for training runs at the 100B-parameter or 100k-GPU-day scale.
• Technical fluency in cluster topology and interconnects like InfiniBand or RoCE.
