Collections Representative 2 (Banking)

What you will do

• Handle high-volume inbound and outbound calls with clients regarding delinquent accounts.
• Collect overdue payments and establish repayment arrangements to bring loans current.
• Discuss borrowers’ financial status and determine reasons for non-payment.
• Negotiate settlements within department guidelines and refer clients to Consumer Credit Risk when appropriate.
• Apply federal regulations and collection laws, including FDCPA requirements.
• Document collection activities and communications accurately in the Debt Manager system.

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• At least two years of collections experience.
• Analytical, problem-solving, communication, and attention-to-detail skills.
• Ability to negotiate assertively and empathetically with borrowers.
• Ability to work under stress, meet deadlines, operate related equipment, and perform required physical duties.
