Catastrophe Claims Specialist Sr (Property Insurance)

Location: Minneapolis, Minnesota and surrounding areas; full-time field work with travel to catastrophe areas and claims offices throughout the United States. Work is approximately 90% field and 10% office, with possible extended deployments and schedules beyond normal business hours.

Base pay: $77,600–$106,700 annually, plus eligibility for a short-term incentive plan.

What you will do

• Respond to catastrophe deployment directives and travel to areas requiring claims assistance.
• Investigate personal and commercial property claims through physical inspections.
• Evaluate damage, prepare written estimates according to policy provisions, and settle claims.
• Contact insureds and relevant parties, collect information and recorded statements, and explain the claims process.
• Support claims offices with workload when not assigned to catastrophe duty.

Requirements

• Typically 7+ years of relevant experience, or an equivalent combination of experience, education, and training.
• Valid driver’s license and ability to drive an automobile.
• Part 107 drone license required for roof inspections; it must be obtained within five months of starting, with the exam passed within three attempts.
• Ability to walk, reach, climb, and crawl during inspections, including in unfavorable weather conditions.
• Ability to lift and carry ladders weighing up to 80 pounds and access two-plus-story structures when required.
• Ability to remain on call, travel extensively, and work ten consecutive 12-hour days followed by four days off.
