Claim Specialist - Property Field Inspection

Location: Minot, North Dakota; candidates must reside within the listed ZIP codes and service the same territory. This is a remote-field position with work from home, a mobile office/vehicle, in-person appointments, and occasional travel to other territories.

Salary: $63,089.65–$90,000 annually, plus potential yearly incentive pay of up to 15% of base salary.

What you will do

• Conduct on-site inspections and assess residential and commercial property damage.
• Investigate and adjust personal and commercial property claims with exposures up to $500,000.
• Gather evidence, document findings, prepare reports, and evaluate coverage and policy terms.
• Collaborate with policyholders, agents, and other stakeholders to resolve claims.
• Explain coverage, provide customer service, negotiate settlements, and handle difficult conversations.
• Inspect roofs and confined spaces while following safety procedures and using required equipment.

Requirements

• Must reside within the listed ZIP codes and service the Minot, North Dakota territory.
• Ability to investigate problems, evaluate information, interpret policies, and make well-supported decisions.
• Strong communication, interpersonal, organizational, analytical, and customer service skills.
• Proficiency with mobile and desktop tools for documenting claims in the field and remotely.
• Physical ability to walk, bend, kneel, squat, climb ladders, traverse roofs, lift and carry equipment, and crawl in tight spaces.
• Valid driver's license required. Required training, licensing exams, motor vehicle record checks, and background checks may apply.

Nice to have

• Bachelor’s degree in risk management, insurance, business, construction management, or a related field.
• Customer service experience and knowledge of property insurance and claim handling.
• Knowledge of residential and commercial construction, building materials, water mitigation, and inspection processes.
• Working knowledge of Xactimate and XactContents.
