Director, Software Engineering & Architecture - FreeWheel (Snowflake)

Salary: $172,261.10–$258,391.65 per year base pay

What you will do

• Set the engineering strategy and roadmap for Snowflake-based data platforms, ingestion services, and downstream marketing data products.
• Establish SLAs and SLOs for ingestion latency, availability, data currency, and recovery.
• Optimize Snowflake costs, warehouse efficiency, workload isolation, and processing performance for large-scale marketing datasets.
• Oversee scalable, high-performance ingestion components that normalize, sanitize, and process high-volume segment data.
• Modernize the platform through cloud-native patterns, automation, CI/CD, infrastructure as code, and standardized ingestion interfaces.
• Build and lead engineering teams responsible for audience segmentation, data onboarding, segment workflows, activation readiness, budgets, and resource allocation.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent combination of coursework and relevant professional experience.
• 10+ years of relevant work experience.
• Experience with software engineering leadership, applications architecture, emerging technologies, and data platforms.
• Experience designing scalable ingestion services and processing high-volume data for business-critical applications.
• Ability to manage budgets, financial targets, organizational design, hiring, coaching, and resource allocation.
