Application Support Engineer (Fintech)

What you will do

• Support, monitor, and deploy proprietary electronic trading systems across the Asia Pacific region.
• Automate daily morning system health checks and continuously monitor production systems.
• Coordinate information flow between developers, project managers, operations, traders, and external brokers or exchanges.
• Investigate production issues and maintain technical and user documentation in Confluence.
• Develop a detailed understanding of trading, order management, market data, static data, settlement, and clearing workflows.
• Identify and implement technology-driven improvements to system reliability and usability.

Requirements

• Degree in Computer Science or a related technical discipline preferred.
• At least two years of financial industry experience, particularly with trading, market data, OMS, FIX protocol, and related systems.
• Understanding of financial markets, instruments, and market data across equities and derivatives preferred.
• Clear and effective communication with technical and non-technical stakeholders.
• Ability to work under pressure with changing priorities in a trading room environment.
• Strong attention to detail and a demonstrated interest in operational and technical improvements.

Nice to have

• Experience supporting a trading room and working closely with traders.
• Experience with market data and Linux or Windows operating systems.
• Technical skills in Bash and Python scripting; PowerShell, VBA, C#, or other programming languages are useful.
• Knowledge of networking fundamentals and messaging middleware.
• Demonstrated continuous problem-solving and process-improvement skills.
