Software Engineering Manager

What you will do

• Lead and develop a team of software engineers through feedback, coaching, career development, hiring, and onboarding.
• Drive engineering initiatives from concept to completion, including technical design, documentation, planning, architecture, risk management, execution, and operational readiness.
• Remain hands-on in design discussions, code quality, troubleshooting, and technical decision-making.
• Partner with product, architecture, operations, and engineering teams to align priorities and deliver business outcomes.
• Promote maintainable software design, effective integration patterns, operational quality, and continuous improvement.
• Manage blockers and dependencies while clearly communicating progress, risks, and decisions.

Requirements

• 5–7 years of relevant work experience as a lead engineer or technical leader.
• Experience developing enterprise-class, highly available, scalable applications hosted on cloud platforms.
• Hands-on experience with multiple general-purpose programming languages, including JavaScript, Python, C#, or Java.
• Experience with multiple database technologies, including MongoDB, PostgreSQL, Redis, or SQL Server.
• Understanding of software design principles, integration patterns, distributed systems, and infrastructure tooling such as GitHub, Docker, Nomad, or Kubernetes.
• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience.

• Experience leading cloud-native, distributed, or highly available systems.
• Experience improving engineering processes, delivery predictability, operational practices, and software quality.
• Experience mentoring engineers across different skill levels and supporting progression into broader technical or leadership roles.
