Software Engineering Manager (TS/SCI)

Location: Colorado Springs, Colorado, at Peterson SFB; primarily on-site with limited remote/hybrid work. U.S. citizenship and eligibility for access to classified information are required.

Salary: $128,000–$170,000–$187,000 annually, depending on location, experience, qualifications, skills, and market conditions.

What you will do

• Lead a cross-functional team evaluating physics-based concepts and software solutions for U.S. Space Force and national defense missions.
• Design, develop, test, and implement scalable end-to-end software solutions.
• Read, program, and review code across the stack using Python, JavaScript, or C/C++ and technologies such as React, Angular, REST, and GraphQL.
• Translate scientific needs involving radio frequency, the electromagnetic spectrum, and space weather into software requirements and solutions.
• Coordinate outcomes across science, software, hardware, and systems engineering teams.
• Provide strategic direction, mentorship, and clear communication to technical and non-technical stakeholders.

Requirements

• Experience with scientific concepts related to radio frequency, the electromagnetic spectrum, or space weather.
• Experience with full-stack development and leading highly technical teams.
• Ability to program in Python, JavaScript, or C/C++ and work with React, Angular, REST, or GraphQL.
• Ability to coordinate cross-functional engineering and science teams and communicate with audiences at varying technical levels.
• Top Secret clearance; TS/SCI clearance or eligibility is required for the role.
• U.S. citizenship is required, and the position requires work at Peterson SFB in Colorado Springs.

Nice to have

• Experience with radar systems, radar modeling, or signal processing.
• Experience with Kubernetes, software factories, requirements analysis, or complex simulation frameworks.
• Master’s or doctorate degree in Physics, Computer Science, or Electrical Engineering.
• Ability to obtain Security+ certification within two months of hire.
