Business Development Associate

Location: Richmond, Virginia

Salary: $60,000–$80,000 annual base pay plus discretionary bonus and benefits.

What you will do

• Conduct thesis-based market research and industry analysis to understand business and industry risks.
• Identify, contact, and build relationships with potential targets, including access to C-suite decision-makers.
• Evaluate conferences for potential attendance and represent River's Edge at industry events.
• Execute weekly, monthly, and quarterly outbound business development expectations.
• Construct presentation materials and maintain the integrity of the company and contact database.
• Work closely with analysts and traders on prediction markets, swaps, and insurance solutions.

Requirements

• 1–2 years of experience in a business development role.
• Comfort with cold calling and creative approaches to accessing company C-suite contacts.
• Basic understanding of financial metrics associated with target markets.
• Outgoing personality and willingness to actively market the firm during phone calls and in-person meetings.
• Strong work ethic, desire to learn, attention to detail, and ability to work collaboratively and proactively.
• Ability to act autonomously, with strong analytical, research, organizational, written, oral communication, and critical-thinking skills.
• Self-starter mindset or demonstrated interest in entrepreneurship, plus demonstrated leadership experience.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office and an impressive academic record.
• Visa sponsorship for work authorization is not available now or in the future.
