Gas & Chemical Technical Facilities Engineer (Semiconductor)

Location: Santa Clara, CA, United States. Onsite facilities engineering role with approximately 10% travel. Relocation eligible.

Salary: $110,500–$152,000 per year

What you will do

• Provide technical leadership for the planning, design, configuration, construction, commissioning, operation, and maintenance of gas and chemical delivery systems, Gas Life Safety Systems, and Pump & Abatement units.
• Oversee system operations, maintenance, safety, uptime, compliance, capacity, and performance of third-party service providers.
• Coordinate with engineering, construction, safety, building owners, utilities, municipalities, contractors, and other stakeholders to deliver projects and minimize downtime.
• Lead troubleshooting, business interruption response, internal escalations, root cause analysis, and 8D problem-solving activities.
• Define project scopes, budgets, schedules, funding needs, safety and compliance improvements, redundancy initiatives, and cost-saving opportunities.
• Manage instrumentation, controls, and life safety engineering teams across projects and review designs, commissioning documentation, Chem Auth, and MOC processes.

Requirements

• Bachelor of Science degree in Mechanical or Chemical Engineering.
• At least 7 years of semiconductor or high-purity hazardous gas facilities management experience, or more than 10 years of equivalent semiconductor gas facilities experience.
• Experience with industrial gas and chemical delivery systems, gas abatement, and wastewater treatment.
• Working knowledge of gas distribution systems and PLC-based controls.
• Knowledge of local fire, building, and environmental codes.
• Strong analytical, written, and verbal communication skills, including SPC, 8D, DMAIC, FMEA, and related methods.
