Staff Engineer – Full Stack Applications (React/Django)

Location: Bethesda, Maryland, United States. hirify.global Flex allows working from anywhere in the US for up to four weeks per year.

Annual salary: $110,000–$230,000.

What you will do

• Provide technical leadership across UI, microservices, backend systems, and DevOps.
• Lead development of a capacity management platform for hybrid-cloud infrastructure demand, capacity, and quota needs.
• Build React, TypeScript, and Bootstrap interfaces on Django, while contributing to services built with Golang, Python, Kafka, and related technologies.
• Design and deliver loosely coupled, scalable microservices and own one or two service areas from requirements through production.
• Deploy web applications in Kubernetes and integrate cloud and on-premises systems reliably.
• Mentor engineers, collaborate with product and partner teams, and drive technical alignment.

Requirements

• 8+ years of professional software development or solutions engineering experience, including recent hands-on single-page web application development.
• Extensive full-stack experience with React, TypeScript, Bootstrap, Django, Java, Python, Golang, Docker, Kubernetes, or Terraform.
• Experience designing microservices and event-driven architectures using technologies such as gRPC, protocol buffers, Kafka, and Apache Spark.
• Experience with micro-frontend architecture, client-side composition, and integration with large single-page applications.
• Experience with relational and NoSQL databases, including PostgreSQL, Cassandra, and MongoDB, plus monitoring, DevOps, CI/CD, and cloud architecture.
• Bachelor’s degree in computer science, information systems, or equivalent education or experience; 4+ years with open-source frameworks and 3+ years with architecture, design, and cloud services.

Nice to have

• Experience with capacity management in a hybrid-cloud environment.
• Experience with Azure native services and infrastructure demand management.
