What you will do

• Interpret system-level customer and functional requirements to define cost-effective mechanical hardware solutions.
• Design, develop, and execute moderately complex projects combining mechanical, electrical, physics, controls, and software disciplines.
• Own detailed designs for vacuum system components, modules, chambers, isolation technologies, and support equipment.
• Lead small multidisciplinary design teams developing automation hardware and semiconductor manufacturing equipment.
• Research new technologies, collaborate with design, manufacturing, marketing, legal, and vendor teams, and support product commercialization.
• Support system integration, manufacturing, final testing, troubleshooting, and remote or onsite field operations.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in a relevant engineering or technical discipline.
• 4–7 years of professional experience.
• Experience with mechanical or mechanism design and development of vacuum systems, vacuum chambers, vacuum isolation technologies, or support equipment.
• Demonstrated experience with CAD software, thermodynamics, sheet metal design, material selection, manufacturing methods, GD&T, flow analysis, or Design for Excellence principles.
• Ability to work independently in moderately complex situations and lead small integrated development teams or projects.

Nice to have

• Experience with semiconductor manufacturing capital equipment.
• Knowledge of semiconductor fabrication physics, processes, and materials.
• Knowledge of the hirify.global product life cycle, including prototyping, packaging, material selection, and manufacturing methods.
