What you will do

• Operate welding torches and hand tools to fuse metal parts according to blueprints and layout specifications.
• Perform complete joint penetration welds that meet visual and ultrasonic inspection standards.
• Prepare joints as required by the AWS D1.1 structural steel welding code.
• Operate manual welding equipment using the gas metal arc process (GMAW).
• Clean and repair welds using grinders, arc gougers, and other trade-specific equipment.
• Move steel structures safely using hoists or cranes.

Requirements

• Must be able to work on-site in Pineville, LA.
• Successful passing of DIS-TRAN Steel’s Welder II test is required.
• Proven experience with GMAW welding and ability to interpret blueprints.
• Ability to produce welds meeting AWS D1.1 structural steel welding code.
• Proficiency in using standard weld gauges and troubleshooting welding equipment.
• High School Diploma or equivalent preferred.

Nice to have

• Prior experience or certifications in operating moving machinery such as cranes.
