FPGA Developer (AI)

Location: Hybrid, based at the Sunnyvale or Toronto office

What you will do

• Lead chassis-to-wafer IO architecture and design across multiple generations of hirify.global hardware.
• Improve existing RTL, implement next-generation FPGA designs, and define future IO architectures.
• Produce production-ready FPGA bitstreams for large AI clusters running customer inference services.
• Optimize bandwidth and latency across FPGA datapaths, RoCE network interfaces, switching fabrics, and proprietary WSE serial IO.
• Collaborate with design verification, board, embedded software, AI application IO, and cluster architecture teams on bring-up, integration, and debugging.
• Drive network performance debugging and integrate networking technologies and protocols into large AI clusters.

Requirements

• 5+ years of industry experience delivering production FPGA solutions, or a Master's/PhD in Computer or Electrical Engineering plus 3 years of industry experience.
• Proficiency in Verilog development within a Git-based repository.
• Strong experience with FPGA placement and routing, timing closure, simulation, debugging, and related FPGA workflows.
• Familiarity with TCP and RoCE network protocols and network debugging tools such as Wireshark.
• Knowledge of network switch environments such as Arista or Juniper, or willingness to learn.
