Electrical Engineer (AI Hardware)

Location: On-site at the Sunnyvale, CA office

Salary: $190,000–$230,000 annually, with potential bonus and equity.

What you will do

• Characterize failure signatures and troubleshoot systems, boards, and components using hands-on electrical bench techniques.
• Drive failure analysis to root cause at the silicon, PCB, component, or system level.
• Diagnose deployed compute systems remotely using Linux command-line tools, logs, telemetry, diagnostic utilities, and remote-access workflows.
• Document technical findings and provide actionable recommendations to design and manufacturing teams.
• Collaborate with ASIC, systems, manufacturing, and external vendor teams to resolve issues and close corrective actions.
• Participate in next-generation system design reviews, contributing electrical, mechanical, thermal, and design-for-test recommendations.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering or a related field.
• 3–5+ years of experience in hardware bring-up, system integration, board or system debugging, or failure analysis.
• Hands-on experience with oscilloscopes and standard electrical bench instrumentation.
• Scripting experience, preferably Python, for data analysis and automation.
• Strong analytical, diagnostic, problem-solving, communication, and autonomous working skills.
• Ability to work on-site in Sunnyvale, California.

Nice to have

• Experience working in Linux environments and using command-line tools to inspect logs, query system state, and run diagnostics.
• Failure analysis experience with cross-sectioning, SEM, and X-ray techniques.
• Experience with contract manufacturers and process or design-level changes.
• Ability to read electrical schematics and board layouts, with familiarity with PCB design and assembly processes.
• Understanding of thermal, electrical, and mechanical interactions in high-performance systems.
