TL;DR
Senior Process Engineer (Manufacturing): Developing and improving advanced manufacturing processes, process controls, layouts, and ergonomic designs at a production facility with an accent on extrusion, robotics, process validation, and continuous improvement. Focus on leading data-driven OEE and safety projects, solving root-cause problems, and implementing capital improvements, CAD documentation, and robust new product launch processes.

Location: 181 Random Dr, New London, North Carolina, United States; role based at a manufacturing facility.

Salary: $80,000–$126,500 USD annually, plus an applicable performance-based bonus plan.

What you will do

  • Develop and implement advanced manufacturing processes, process controls, layouts, ergonomic designs, and continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Lead data-driven projects focused on overall equipment effectiveness (OEE), safety, root-cause analysis, corrective actions, and process optimization.
  • Create and maintain process documentation, work instructions, technical reports, engineering change notifications, test procedures, drawings, and specifications.
  • Collaborate with maintenance, extrusion experts, NPD, and cross-functional stakeholders on product launches, prototype builds, industrial validation, and process development.
  • Lead capital improvement projects and support manufacturing tooling, fixturing, 3D CAD models, bills of materials, routings, and assembly drawings.
  • Directly manage shift process technicians, provide technical guidance to technical team leads, and mentor colleagues.

Requirements

  • Minimum 5 years of experience in manufacturing or process engineering, machine build, and testing environments.
  • Experience with project management, cross-functional collaboration, troubleshooting, analytical problem-solving, and technical product production.
  • Knowledge and practical application of APQP, PPAP, FMEA, SPC, MSA, and continuous improvement tools.
  • Experience with CAD, technical drawings, tolerancing, and GD&T.
  • Ability to lead shift process technicians and provide technical direction to technical team leads.
  • Ability to work at the New London, North Carolina manufacturing facility.

Nice to have

  • Twin-screen profile extrusion, composite manufacturing, or polyethylene experience.
  • PLC or DCS control system experience.
  • Lean Manufacturing certification or Six Sigma Green Belt certification.
  • Understanding of maintenance indicators and preventive and predictive maintenance systems.
