Engineer I - Production Engineering (Assembly) (Automotive Manufacturing): Supporting new model preparation and developing assembly equipment changes for Toyota manufacturing centers with an accent on production engineering, automation, safety, and quality. Focus on planning model-change projects, creating technical equipment specifications, leading equipment projects from concept to launch, and coordinating with manufacturing, logistics, maintenance, and external vendors.

Location: Georgetown, Kentucky, United States. Requires travel up to 20% to North American Manufacturing Centers, Japan, and equipment makers. May require up to 30% overtime, including some weekends and holidays.

What you will do

  • Plan upcoming model changes with Plant Model Change and Final Assembly teams.
  • Evaluate model-change impacts on assembly processes and define technical equipment change requirements.
  • Develop new production engineering technologies and vendor relationships.
  • Lead assembly equipment projects from concept through launch across North American Manufacturing Centers.
  • Collaborate with Final Assembly Engineering, pilot teams, logistics, maintenance, internal logistics engineering, PEPD, and external groups.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree or higher in engineering or a technical discipline, or equivalent experience.
  • At least 3 years of relevant work experience or three co-op rotations in automotive production engineering.
  • Experience in automotive production engineering and vehicle model changes.
  • Experience creating equipment technical specifications for vendor execution.
  • Must have the right to work in the United States without current or future Toyota visa or work authorization sponsorship.

Nice to have

  • Experience with project planning, schedules, and key milestone dates.
  • Experience improving safety conditions in team member processes.
  • Completion of a TBP Panel.
