Senior Manager, Software Development Engineering - Lodging Connectivity (AI)

Location: Austin, Texas, United States

Salary: $184,500–$258,000 annual total cash range, with potential pay up to $295,000 based on sustained performance.

What you will do

• Lead multiple software engineering teams building and operating resilient, scalable lodging connectivity services, external APIs, and partner-facing developer tools.
• Spend approximately 50% of the role on hands-on software design, development, production coding, and delivery ownership.
• Design system architecture, API schemas, data models, and integration patterns for external lodging partners and internal platforms.
• Safely integrate AI/ML-enabled and AI-assisted solutions into connectivity systems and production services.
• Set engineering standards for code quality, observability, reliability, security, and compliance.
• Partner with product, business, and operations stakeholders while developing and mentoring software engineers and engineering managers.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent level; a technical degree is preferred.
• 8+ years of relevant professional experience and 3+ years of people management experience.
• Professional software engineering experience managing engineers and owning multi-service or domain-level production systems.
• End-to-end ownership of complex distributed services or platforms, including design, implementation, deployment, and operations.
• Strong background in service-oriented or microservices architectures, low-level system design, API design, and data modeling.
• Familiarity with AI-driven systems, AI/ML concepts, and safely integrating these capabilities into production services.

Nice to have

• Experience with large-scale, highly available, and secure connectivity or integration platforms in travel, e-commerce, or similarly complex domains.
• Experience evolving multi-service systems, refactoring legacy components, defining integration contracts, and improving performance, reliability, and observability.
• Experience with incident management, on-call practices, capacity planning, intelligent testing, code analysis, or AI-assisted software development.
