Software Development Manager (AI)

Location: Jersey City, New Jersey, USA, or New York, New York, USA

Salary: $203,400–$275,200 USD annually, plus sign-on payments and restricted stock units.

What you will do

• Lead, coach, hire, and develop a team of software development engineers.
• Own the design, delivery, deployment, and operations of a globally distributed, high-throughput service spanning control plane, data plane, and real-time ingestion pipelines.
• Define the technical roadmap with product managers, applied scientists, and cross-functional engineering teams.
• Drive availability, latency, security, on-call, and incident response practices across multiple AWS regions.
• Set engineering quality standards through design reviews, code reviews, testing strategy, and architectural decisions.
• Manage dependencies, risks, trade-offs, stakeholder communication, and team culture.

Requirements

• 3+ years of engineering team management experience and 7+ years of engineering experience.
• 8+ years leading the definition and development of multi-tier web services.
• Experience developing large-scale, multi-tiered distributed systems using Java, C#, or C++, service-oriented architecture, and distributed programming.
• Experience providing technical leadership and project management throughout the software development lifecycle.
• Knowledge of coding standards, code reviews, source control, build processes, testing, certification, and live-site operations.
• Bachelor's degree or foreign equivalent in Computer Science, Engineering, Mathematics, or a related field.

• Experience communicating technical designs, product features, and strategy to users, technical teams, and senior leadership.
