Technical Program Manager - Engineering (AWS)

Location: Plano, Texas; the selected candidate must reside within a commutable distance.

What you will do

• Own end-to-end delivery of complex, cross-team engineering programs from scoping and planning through launch and retrospectives.
• Break ambiguous initiatives into milestones, workstreams, deliverables, ownership, and timelines.
• Manage dependencies across backend, full-stack, frontend, platform, infrastructure, and security teams while identifying and resolving risks.
• Partner with engineering and product leaders on technical approach, sequencing, resource allocation, and delivery decisions.
• Coordinate design reviews, sprint planning, release planning, and multi-service AWS deployments, including rollback strategies.
• Drive operational readiness through observability, runbooks, load testing, incident response plans, delivery metrics, and process improvements.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience.
• 8+ years of experience in technical program management, software engineering, or a combination, including 3+ years in TPM or technical delivery leadership.
• Strong technical fluency in architecture diagrams, API contracts, distributed-system traces, and system design tradeoffs.
• Working knowledge of AWS serverless architectures, including Lambda, API Gateway, DynamoDB, Step Functions, EventBridge, SQS/SNS, and S3.
• Experience with CI/CD, blue/green and canary deployments, release management, agile delivery, observability, and operational readiness.
• Must have the right to work in the United States without current or future Toyota visa or employment-authorization sponsorship.

Nice to have

• Financial services, banking, or insurance industry experience.
• Software engineering background and experience with Infrastructure as Code such as AWS CDK, CloudFormation, or Terraform.
• Experience with AWS multi-account architectures, platform migrations, system decomposition, or large-scale re-architecture.
• Experience with GenAI integration, data streaming, event-driven architecture, AWS certifications, or operational reviews.
