Engineer - Battery Production Engineering

Location: Liberty, North Carolina, United States. Applicants must already have the right to work in the United States and must not require current or future employment-based visa or work authorization sponsorship.

What you will do

• Lead planning and problem-solving activities for pre-production battery cell trials.
• Collaborate with cross-functional equipment, production engineering, manufacturing, and external partner teams.
• Identify and resolve material, product, and process issues through root cause analysis and corrective actions.
• Create trial plans, technical reports, summaries, and process or equipment specifications.
• Advance problem-solving systems, learning capture, standardization, and kaizen across the department.
• Manage individual activities, report status, support organizational development, and participate in department-level Hoshin activities.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree or higher in Engineering, Chemical Engineering, or a similar technical field, or at least 5 years of equivalent professional engineering experience in manufacturing.
• At least 2 years of experience in manufacturing production preparation, project scheduling, process and equipment planning, specification, procurement, installation, and trials.
• At least 1 year of experience with battery cell products, processes, equipment, or trial activities.
• Experience applying product and process specifications, drawings, and related technical documentation.
• Experience coordinating varied functions in large corporate organizations and reporting to senior leadership.
• Ability to work weekends, holidays, shutdowns, and up to 25% overtime, with domestic and international travel up to 15%.

Nice to have

• Experience with hirify.global Production System, hirify.global Business Practice, Fault Tree Analysis, or similar problem-solving methods.
• Experience with simultaneous product and process or equipment engineering for new models.
• Manufacturing plant production operations experience.
• Experience with data analytics tools, digital engineering software, and model data.
• Japanese language proficiency in verbal and written communication.
