Manufacturing Engineer (Electrical Manufacturing)

Location: 100% in-office in Surrey, British Columbia, Canada; remote work is not offered.

Salary: CAD $38.94–$46.63 per hour

What you will do

• Design, optimize, and implement manufacturing processes to improve quality, efficiency, and safety.
• Lead Kaizen events, continuous improvement projects, and structured root-cause problem-solving using 8D, A3, DMAIC, 5-Why, Fishbone, and PDCA methods.
• Develop and maintain standard work instructions, control plans, PFMEA documentation, and process risk assessments.
• Analyze process data using SPC, Pareto analysis, and time studies to resolve bottlenecks and defects.
• Collaborate with Quality, Operations, and Supply Chain on new products, process changes, equipment selection, validation, and layout optimization.
• Train and mentor operators and technicians on process changes and lean manufacturing tools.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical, Industrial, Manufacturing Engineering, or a related technical field.
• 3–7 years of experience in manufacturing or process engineering, preferably in a medium- to high-mix volume environment.
• Experience with Kaizen, standard work, time studies, line balancing, material flow, and structured problem-solving.
• Strong knowledge of Lean Manufacturing and/or Six Sigma principles.
• Experience with ERP/MES systems, engineering change control, and work instruction platforms.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office and engineering tools such as AutoCAD, SolidWorks, or equivalent, along with strong communication and facilitation skills.

Nice to have

• Lean or Six Sigma certification at Green Belt level or higher.
• Experience with electrical equipment, assembly-based manufacturing, or industrial manufacturing.
• Familiarity with ISO 9001 or related quality management systems.
