Visual Inspection Technician (Optics)

What you will do

• Perform incoming, in-process, and final inspections of manufactured optical and precision-engineered parts.
• Conduct unaided visual inspections under bright light and dark-field conditions, including lens, optics, photonics, film coating, and glass surface inspections.
• Use vernier calipers, micrometers, measuring microscopes, and optical measurement equipment.
• Classify defects and collaborate with engineering to resolve quality issues and improve processes.
• Prepare quality records and accurately document inspection results, traceability, and required repairs or improvements.

Requirements

• Minimum Nitec or Higher Nitec in Mechatronics, Precision Engineering, Opticianry, or a relevant qualification.
• Experience inspecting lenses, optics, photonics, film coating coloration, or glass surfaces.
• Proficiency with vernier calipers, micrometers, and measuring microscopes; experience with Smart Scope and Vision Measurement Systems is advantageous.
• Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings and specifications.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, SharePoint, and Teams.
• English and Chinese required; ability to work in a cleanroom, rotating shifts, overtime, and travel as needed.
