Supplier Development Engineer (Manufacturing)

Location: Hybrid role based at the headquarters in Tampere, Finland, with active physical presence required. Travel to supplier sites in Europe and Asia may take up to 33% of the time.

What you will do

• Develop supplier capabilities and drive operational excellence across the component supply chain.
• Conduct supplier audits and lead systematic root cause analysis and corrective actions.
• Grant final approval for supplier processes and 0-series production.
• Collaborate with Sourcing, R&D, Production Quality, and suppliers on new product introduction projects.
• Ensure manufacturability and quality from supplier process design through the end-customer experience.

Requirements

• Experience in supplier quality, supplier development, or manufacturing engineering in a product-oriented company.
• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Mechanical, Production, Quality, Industrial, or another relevant engineering field.
• Knowledge of ISO 9001, APQP, PPAP, and FMEA.
• Strong systematic problem-solving skills and technical knowledge of manufacturing processes, such as sheet metal fabrication, precision machining, or electrical manufacturing.
• Excellent project management, communication, and influencing skills.
• Proficiency in Finnish and English is required.

Nice to have

• Experience in advanced manufacturing industries, including automotive.
• Lean Six Sigma certification or experience with DMAIC projects.
• Hands-on CAD experience, such as SolidWorks.
