TL;DR
Access and Stewardship Program Director (Public Lands and Government Relations): Leading onX's access and stewardship program across grants, customer education, partnerships, geospatial projects, and policy-informed initiatives with an accent on strategic planning, federal policy, and nonpartisan program growth. Focus on managing complex cross-functional programs, evaluating political risks and trade-offs, and translating qualitative and quantitative results into executive-ready recommendations.

Location: Distributed across Austin, Bozeman, Denver, Kalispell, Minneapolis, Missoula, Portland, Salt Lake City, and Seattle, United States. Monthly travel for multiple days to a corporate office or other hirify.global strategic location is required. Permanent US work authorization is required.

Salary: $149,000–$186,000 upon hire, plus a 10% annual performance bonus and common share options.

What you will do

  • Set the strategic direction, annual plan, priorities, budget, and investment focus for the Access and Stewardship program.
  • Oversee grants, stewardship initiatives, customer education, geospatial and product integration projects, partnerships, and policy-informed programs.
  • Direct government relations and the policy consultant relationship, including federal developments, policy positions, and Washington, D.C. engagements.
  • Identify and manage nonprofit and community partners while aligning priorities across hirify.global's business verticals.
  • Define success metrics, oversee the annual impact report, and provide senior leadership with recommendations, risks, trade-offs, and opportunities.
  • Coach and develop A&S teammates while remaining hands-on in day-to-day program delivery and internal communications.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in public policy, environmental studies, nonprofit management, business, communications, or a related field, or equivalent experience.
  • 10+ years of experience in program management, advocacy, government relations, corporate social responsibility, nonprofit partnerships, conservation, or related fields.
  • Direct experience with federal policy, advocacy, or government relations involving congressional offices, federal agencies, or policy partners.
  • Experience leading complex cross-functional initiatives from strategy through execution with responsibility for priorities, partners, and measurable outcomes.
  • Strong strategic judgment, prioritization, communication, data-driven decision-making, and stakeholder influence without direct authority.
  • Permanent US work authorization and availability for monthly multi-day travel to a corporate office or strategic location are required.

Nice to have

  • Outdoor industry experience or strong familiarity with public lands, access, stewardship, and outdoor recreation issues.
