CAD Engineer/Librarian Intern (Summer 2027)

What you will do

• Model and draw spacecraft components, structures, and manifolds.
• Maintain and improve the design library and supporting data infrastructure.
• Develop, document, and improve practices for efficient hardware design.
• Contribute to hands-on development of complex spacecraft hardware.

Requirements

• Hold a four-year B.S. degree or be pursuing an M.S. in mechanical engineering, aerospace engineering, physics, applied mathematics, industrial design, or an equivalent technical field.
• Demonstrate an interest in hardware development and hands-on work in a fast-paced environment.
• Experience with SolidWorks.
• Experience with GD&T and engineering drawings.
• U.S. citizenship, lawful permanent residency, or refugee/asylee status is required.
• Be enrolled at a college or university for this twelve-week internship.

Nice to have

• Experience designing complex assemblies and components.
• Experience designing spaceflight components or vacuum-compatible systems.
• Experience with surface modeling.
