CAD Drafter I (Aerospace)

What you will do

• Create and maintain detail-part and assembly models, 2D drawings, and engineering documentation using PTC Creo Parametric and Windchill PLM.
• Support Model-Based Definition datasets with 3D annotations, semantic PMI, and specification states according to ASME Y14.41.
• Assist with mechanical and structural layouts for steel frameworks, platforms, access structures, and custom machine assemblies.
• Support fluid-system design for piping routes, tubing assemblies, and component layouts, as well as electrical layouts for enclosures, cable trays, and panels.
• Review designs and drawings, identify discrepancies, and support drawing checks and release workflows.
• Apply engineering and manufacturing standards while using AI-assisted design tools and automation to improve productivity and drawing quality.

Requirements

• Two-year associate degree in Computer Aided Drafting, Mechanical Engineering Technology, Drafting and Design Technology, or equivalent technical certification.
• Foundational knowledge of Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing and ASME Y14 drafting standards.
• Experience or knowledge in drafting aerospace, automotive, marine, structural, mechanical, fluid, or electrical systems.
• Mechanical design and integration skills using 3D parametric modeling software.
• Ability to interpret technical specifications, procedures, work instructions, and processes.
• Must meet U.S. export-control eligibility requirements.

Nice to have

• 0–3 years of relevant technical design experience.
• Experience with PTC Creo Parametric or Pro/ENGINEER and exposure to Windchill or similar PLM/PDM tools.
• Experience or interest in MBD, 3D annotation, large-assembly management, piping or tubing design, and electrical design tools.
• Interest in DFMA, hands-on product development, maker or fabrication work, and AI-assisted CAD productivity.
