Software Engineer (AWS/Kubernetes)

Location: Work from home may be available; preferred candidates live in or near Lincoln, Nebraska. Not currently hiring in Delaware, Hawaii, Maryland, New Jersey, Rhode Island, or Washington, D.C.

Salary: $80,000–$116,000 base salary per year, excluding benefits and potential bonuses.

What you will do

• Design, build, and enhance customer-facing functionality across the healthcare platform.
• Build and maintain Kubernetes-based application deployments and reusable infrastructure modules.
• Design and maintain Infrastructure as Code for AWS cloud resources.
• Improve CI/CD pipelines, deployment workflows, developer experience, and operational automation.
• Monitor production environments and improve observability, alerting, scalability, and reliability.
• Use AI-assisted development tools to accelerate delivery, improve code quality, generate tests, and solve technical problems.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, MIS, IT, Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent experience.
• Strong experience developing production software and solving complex technical problems.
• Experience administering Kubernetes clusters, preferably Amazon EKS.
• Experience with AWS services including EKS, RDS, IAM, S3, Route 53, ALB, and CloudWatch.
• Experience with CI/CD, Infrastructure as Code using Terraform, CloudFormation, or similar tools, and infrastructure automation.
• Understanding of cloud architecture, distributed systems, observability, production troubleshooting, and AI-assisted development tools.

Nice to have

• Experience with GitOps tools such as Argo CD or Flux.
• Experience with Docker, container security, Linux administration, and highly available production systems.
• Experience with Datadog, Prometheus, Grafana, or similar observability platforms.
• Experience in healthcare or another regulated industry.
