Principal Platform Engineer (AWS/Kubernetes)

Location: Remote - US

Base salary: $200,000–$215,000 USD

What you will do

• Define the technical vision for secure, resilient, and scalable cloud platform services.
• Modernize legacy infrastructure and guide application teams toward modern service-based deployments.
• Establish platform reliability practices, including SLOs, observability, operational readiness, incident response, and KPI improvement.
• Improve deployment safety, security controls, data protection, and asset management.
• Build developer tooling, feedback loops, and self-service capabilities.
• Mentor engineers and influence architecture, standards, and execution across teams.

Requirements

• 10+ years of experience building and operating mission-critical platforms across DevOps, infrastructure, cloud, or software engineering.
• Principal-level architecture judgment across scalability, reliability, security, observability, and operational excellence.
• Advanced AWS expertise across compute, networking, storage, identity, containers, serverless, messaging, data, and observability services.
• Hands-on experience with CI/CD, infrastructure as code, Kubernetes, GitOps, ArgoCD, deployment automation, source control, and production scripting.
• Experience contributing to cross-functional architecture forums and shaping platform investments.
• Proven ability to mentor senior engineers and establish durable technical standards.
