Manager, State Analytics & Decision Support (Auto Finance)

Location: Chicago, IL or Bethesda, MD; hybrid role with a 3-day in-office requirement

Annual salary: $115,825–$189,625

What you will do

• Own financial analysis and decision support for a portfolio of states, covering new business growth, retention, mix, profitability, and expense dynamics.
• Partner with Product State Managers to evaluate performance drivers, emerging trends, and tradeoffs between growth and profit-focused actions.
• Develop state-level policy, premium, and profitability analytics, outlooks, and sensitivity analyses for rate, marketing, and underwriting changes.
• Build decision-focused analytical frameworks and convert complex financial analyses into clear narratives for senior leaders.
• Improve consistency, rigor, data usability, and timeliness across finance’s state analytics.
• Lead, mentor, and develop team members while building analytical and business capabilities.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Finance or a related field.
• 5+ years of experience in FP&A or Finance.
• Experience working in property and casualty insurance.
• Previous people leadership experience.
• Strong Microsoft Office, analytical, quantitative, communication, collaboration, and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to understand business stakeholder needs, justify assumptions with data, and develop business cases.

Nice to have

• MBA and/or CPA.
• Power BI experience.
