Manager, Staff Counsel

Location: Springfield, Virginia, United States; hybrid work with 1–2 days per week in the office

What you will do

• Manage Staff Counsel office activities related to defending hirify.global insureds in Virginia liability lawsuits.
• Oversee litigation on behalf of hirify.global in subrogation, Uninsured Motorist, Underinsured Motorist, and PIP suits or arbitrations.
• Interview and approve applicants, review performance appraisals, and manage salary adjustments and personnel changes.
• Counsel associates and take disciplinary or termination action when appropriate.
• Attend trials, hearings, arbitrations, depositions, management meetings, and conferences.
• Review office reports and implement changes to improve file handling and office results.

Requirements

• Juris Doctor degree.
• Virginia law license in good standing and compliance with applicable licensing and CLE requirements.
• At least 7 years of litigation experience, including insurance defense or personal injury experience.
• Management experience.
• Ability to work in the Springfield, Virginia area and attend the office 1–2 days per week.
